Google’s own advice about when to hire an SEO includes “If you’re thinking about hiring an SEO, the earlier the better. A great time to hire is when you’re considering a site redesign, or planning to launch a new site. That way, you and your SEO can ensure that your site is designed to be search engine-friendly from the bottom up.“
If you wait until your redesigned website is ready to launch, it may be too late to maximise the opportunity because the whole site should be designed with SEO baked in to the content and code from the get go.

Getting started: how does it work?
- First telephone call (15-30 minutes) to discuss your business and what you are hoping to achieve.
- Very soon after our first telephone call, we will email you to summarise the outcome of the first call and either inform you that we will carry out a brief assessment (at no cost to you) of your website and SEO or, if we don’t think we can help, we’ll be honest about that and explain why.
- If we think we can help, we’ll carry out a brief review of your website, local listings and other aspects of your SEO like back links.
- Second telephone call to inform you of our initial findings and thoughts and give you and us an opportunity to ask further questions.
- If you want to take it to the next stage, we’ll send you our quote.
- If you accept the quote, we’ll agree next steps, start dates and initial work program with you.
Frequently asked questions
How long will it take before I can expect to see results?
Google says (in the paragraph headed “Getting started”) , “Remember that it will take time for you to see results: typically from four months to a year from the time you begin making changes until you start to see the benefits.” We beg to differ. We usually report evidence of improvements within 2-3 months. However, it differs from case to case and depends on many things including how quickly you respond to and implement our recommendations as well as changes made by Google or yourselves which might be outside our control. We have experienced clients completely changing their website without telling us! SEO is a team effort and you are a key player in that team.
Will you ask me to sign a contract committing me to a minimum term?
No. However, you should have an expectation for the campaign to last at least 9 months. If you cancel after 3 or 4 months, it won’t work for you and it won’t work for us. The more ambitious the project, the more time it takes to plan, implement and get up to speed. We like ambitious, committed people.
How much do your SEO services cost?
This question is a bit like asking how much will my house extension cost? We don’t know until we’ve have had a discussion with you to understand your objectives. However, our costs are currently based on an hourly rate of £75.00 + VAT and will be for a fixed total amount each month.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
We have worked with all kinds of businesses in very diverse sectors. We especially like working with long-established, profitable businesses for which sales or other types of conversions can be tracked. Do you adhere to Google’s rules?
Yes. We strive to attain the highest quality work practices and, in doing so, naturally comply with Google’s guidelines. We have never had a client suffer a Google penalty as a result of work we have done.
Do you offer any performance guarantees?
No. Indeed Google warns against using SEO companies that make unrealistic promises or offer guarantees of achieving certain rankings. It is not possible to offer a guarantee because there are things outside of our control, including changes that may be made by Google, your competition or even yourself.
If you can’t offer guarantees, what do you offer?
We offer a transparent and flexible service which will ensure you are informed every month about what activity we have undertaken, what progress we have achieved and what recommendations we make. We value being held accountable and strive to prove the value we add using numbers (conversions, profit, traffic etc.) and not opinion. We know that’s the reason for our high client retention rate.
How should I judge if we have been successful?
One of the first things we’ll do is ask you what you want to achieve. Then we’ll agree what we should measure so that we can report performance against those objectives. The reports we provide you with on a monthly basis will show progress against those objectives.
When is the best time to start SEO?
If you have a proven, profitable business, then it is best to start as soon as possible.
